Along The Winding Road

A true love is well worth the fight to make it last through life when two people really care. It may take a lot when two different people come together to share the rest of their lives till death do they part. Many winding roads they will travel before they come to the straight well paved.

Along the winding Road

Long and lost in the distance,
I see you there all alone,
I missed you as you walked away,
Leaving me here in our home.

Life can be so very daring,
As we carry a heavy load,
Making our way through life,
Along the winding road.

A shadow of a memory,
Following us every step we take,
Promises to always love each other,
Of a love that isn’t fake.

A love worth fighting for,
Respecting the sacred code,
Fulfilling all our promises,
Along the winding road.

Through all life’s ups and downs,
Through many smiles, hugs and tears,
Just fighting for each other’s love,
Protecting from the many fears.

Through dark days and the sunshine,
Weakness of the heavy burdened load,
We’ll make it through the turns in life,
Along the winding road.

A beautiful write for your wonderful relationship there. I couldn't help but notice that the advertisement under your poem was "Husband Cheating?" I don't know if the ad's stay the same but I often wonder how they chose them. Don't know if you notice how they fit some days and others like to day they are way off base. Lady J

This is precious, Rose. Even for those for whom love "isn't fake" there are perhaps dips, turns and dry spells along life's lengthy way. You help us focus and dig in for the long haul with your beauty here. TY Kate xx

So sad this is the road less traveled.
Wonderful lines of devotion.
A true lesson in love.

I really liked this, especially:

A love worth fighting for,
Respecting the sacred code,

Sometimes that sacred code is hard to understand. I like the flow and strength of this,

Very few travel on easy love's straight line, it is the winding one that offers challenges mixed with laughs and tears and that make so memorable to be in love...

Beautifully written and portrayed this special life's journey of two becoming one and walking hand in hand. Blessed are those that are fortunate enough to find that. And Blessed are the other roads that God reveals in exchange. Deborah:)
