A Dance With You
By La Belle Rouge

if we never share that dance
never feel the heat of our bodies
pressed tightly together

we have already danced
to the music of love innumerable times

on white sand beaches
where ocean waves crash
against the shore
and passion waves crash
against our hearts

in grass-scented spring meadows
under shelter of majestic ancient oaks
where lilies, daisies and desire grow wild

where there is no one to decide or say
who should or shouldn’t love whom

in deep twilight forest shadows
where the wolf calls to her mate
morphed into creatures of the night
the scent of juniper and pine
mingled with the fragrance of lust

we have danced beside blazing hearth
on deep winter’s eve with the wind
howling like a banshee outside our door
and snowflakes silently kissing window panes

in dreams you have held me
closer than a lover’s breath
caressing more than mere flesh

I have shared many dances with you
we have moved to the rhythm
of shimmering, revolving stars
and kissed often, soul to soul

OMG, Dear La Belle, I randomly picked a poem from your list and can’t believe how familiar was every imagery, the places you have taken me, white sand beaches, green meadows, the sound of whispering waves, the scent of fresh grass, silently falling snowflakes… even dark forest, I have been everywhere in my imagination, love them all and they are also a big part of my inspiration, my fantasy and my reality… my soul is delighted of the journey you took me to and happy finding similarity in many things….I love daisies and lilies too…
BTW, you have beautiful eyes and I can see your soul through them…
Love, Ankin

Belle,

WoW! This is one of your most intimate pieces. No deeper is the love for another than to feel that love with one's soul. The imagery was exquisite my friend. Peace love and Blessing Always, Paul.

...and as wind sang exotic songs in the rigging
we held each other as the ship rocked us into submission
while our lips came together without the need for permission

Sorry this poem was so lovely I guess didn't want it to end...

So searingly beautiful - filled with passion and longing and knowing. This is a perfect testament to the fact that love does, indeed, transcend the mere 'physical;' and resides primarily in the realm of the 'spritual.' -- Jeff
