Today is Joshua's birthday. He would have been 10. This is a special sharing and tribute to him. I have written about his life in stories and have some poems on the den also.
I wrote a special poemsong called , "Where Are You Tonight". Perhaps oneday someone will publish it .

Joshua was born, April 8, 1998 in Port Charlotte, Fl. to Rick (our son) and Jessica, his wife. Soon after he was born he was in respitaory distress with complications. He came home in ten days. Jessica was unable to cope with his illness, so he came to live with us, and remained here until his death. He was blind, with gastric reflux, a feeding tube, required constant care, oxygen. His metabolism did not work right, and he had seizures, cerabal palsey, could not sit or turn himself. He needed frequent hospitalizations. Life for him and all of us was an emotional rollercoaster.

A special bond developed, he became our son, a part of US. Our lives inertwined as we cared for him and watched him become better, and then worse. Our love for him knew no limits or bounds. He was an intregal part of our lives.
Our world revolved around him. We all knew he was going to die. His life expectancy was a year. He lived to be just over two years old and died May 25, 2000.

I greived so much after his death! I missed holding him, feeling his little body close to me. The absense of his presence in our house was almost intolerable. I prayed, wrote many letters and poems to him.

About six months after he died , God was gracious enough to let me see him for a brief moment and I knew he was alright.

Time has a way of easing loneliness and pain. I do not wish him back to be the way he was. I know he is at peace now and is one of Gods little angels. I take comfort in that.

I often wonder what he would have been like if he had been born a normal little boy and lived. Each year we celebrate his birthday and his entry into heaven .

So today on this special day , I say "Happy Birthady Joshua. We love you and miss you. Some day we'll be with you. Mom and dad and your brother send their love too"..
Always , Grandma

You are a healing balm to me. Just reading such sad story and then a glad part of it is healing to me. I needed this right now today. I know Tom is in heaven and he loved little children, so he must be entertaining them there for Jesus too. Most of my poems are about death and angels and Tom etc and my reviews a lot of them are about Tom and going to his grave. We never forget our loved one, and they are with us in spirit and we know they are alright up their with God. He is marvelous and a wonder to be seen, time will tell us and let us know it to be true. Keep your spirits up and write whenever and whatever you feel when needed. I know I will. Thanks.**********

God bless you MaryGrace for being there for your grandson! You have that to comfort you,and knowing that he is now in our heavenly Father's domain is also a blessing. You went through much tribulation, and haven't succumbed to it, but became stronger. You are a fine exmaple for us all!...ET

That is truly marvelous, MaryGrace, and what a comfort that must have been. God Bless, and I know he had a most joyous birthday, filled with all your love.

Oh MaryGrace, your anguish and pain comes through so clearly, yet so does your resolve for your grandson. He touched your lives as all of you touched his, now he is with God waiting.....

Happy Birthday Joshua!
