Sure, getting on a plane
to fly thousands of miles
every few days sucks.

And with American Airlines
not keeping up on
safety regulations
it is taking a little more time
to get where I need to be.

Sometimes though
through the hassle
and the hustle
of going from point A
to point B
a gem of a moment
glimmers in the grayness
of a mundane repetitive life.

Today such a spark emerged
when a gate agent announced:

"Would the gentlemen
who left his false teeth
and hearing aid
by the sink in the men's room
please check in at Gate 11...
that is if you can hear me."

To which the entire terminal
broke out  in a loud
roar of laughter.

It's a tough job
but somebody's
got to do it
and I am glad I was there
to witness it.
