Things We Whisper
By La Belle Rouge

so often i have told you,
things i’ve never told you
things i know i never will
yet each time our souls touch
in words, it’s real love we feel

if i could dry those bitter tears
your weary eyes have cried
you know, Sweet Love, i would
but the things we can’t say
seem to get in the way
of all the things we could

how i wish i could whisper
the things i would whisper
if you could only be here
how i’ve longed to kiss your lips
in the night to hold you near

one touch of trembling hands
is all it would take
to ignite the blazing fire
we've controlled so long so well
and one night spent within your arms
would create heaven from this hell

if i could dry those bitter tears
your weary eyes have cried
you know, Sweet Love, i would
but the things we can’t say
seem to get in the way
of all the things we could

If love poetry was touch
we would have loved too much
in just a few hungry years’ time
all the things unsaid, unclear
things you can never hear
cause you will never be mine

if i could dry those bitter tears
your weary eyes have cried
you know, Sweet Love, i would
but the things we can’t say
seem to get in the way
of all the things we could

How touchingly written and how precise you expressed it. A pity, many times, all those things that go unsaid.

You have written my sentiments about a relationship from long time ago. Yet, somehow I think he knew what was never said.

God bless you. Kathy

Wandering in the solitude's desert, is those whispers that keep me going without faltering or looking back, because the whisper are coming from the future, far away, beyond the imagination limits...

How true because that is usually they way it happens. So much we want to say and yet keep it tucked away. Our minds carry on with such meaningful conversations that we guard well, never allowing it to reach our lips....

Be always safe,
Karen

This is fine poetry given sadness...most excellent La Belle.
