This is for that person who almosted ruined my chances of ever being happy.

You came, claimed, and damaged

There's nothing else to conquer

What you see is the shell of what use to be

Inside I am deep and hollow

Still trying to recover from the hole you put in my heart

You came, claimed, and damaged

You came into my life to do exactly what you wanted to

You made it your mission for me to fall in love with you, to make me feel like we had something special, then you snuck my innocence from me

You came, claimed, and damaged

I dont even have the heart to tell you I dont want you, or to tell you your no good

Why????

Because I loved you more than anything, and unfortuntly I still do

You came, claimed, and damaged

I think its time to find you a new victim, and its time for me to truly be happy. Goodbye.

Has the sound of the old "Dear John" letters and rightfully so. It is time for you to move on, give yourself a chance to heal and one day even love again....

Be always safe,
Karen

Yes, and putting us at the eye to eye level, we can take credit where it's due and blame ourselves for our own destructive actions. I only speak for myself in that comment.

Great write. I think you summed up what a lot of us feel after being used and abused in a relationship. Liz
