You have to love Country Music, they are the poets of song...

Songs of the Heart

By: Fee (and a whole lot of country music song writers)

While I sadly strolled down Johnnie’s

Lonely Sunday Morning Sidewalk          (Johnnie Cash)

I wondered why I feel such pain

Thinking bout the way I loved you

My Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain

I guess I felt like Only The Lonely

Or perhaps the Angels from up above

Could it be the placed I dreamed of

When we held hands in the Chapel of Love

Heard that lonesome whistle blowing

That old Midnight Special down the track

Wishing I were On The Road Again

And I was never coming back

Saw a young couple by the high school

He was wearing Blue Suede Shoes

A transistor radio started playing

Devil Woman just before the news

But these Boots Were Made For Walking

They waved and said hello to me

I waved from the Blue Side of Lonesome

Watched them just Walk On By

Finally back home Behind Closed Doors

I found a smile In The Shelter of Your Arms

I knew You’ve Never Been This Far Before

In Countryland I thanked God for your charms

Wonderful words laced with great songs I's nearly forgotten. I'm humming along now that you tweeked my nostalgic side. Only the lonely makes me recall my junior high years and the dances we attended and football games and the first crush.
Thanks for these memories.
Love and blessings,
Susan

We used to do this for the high school newspaper. I'm glad when I see the old pastime being done again. Good old songs, and a story with a very happy ending. It's a nice pic, too, and a catchy tribute to the old country songwriters.

Ah - now THAT was music. :) Bring back the good ole days, when singers had talent - everything now is based on looks. A few standouts, but not many ... sigh. Excellent trip down the country road. (InCLINEd to agree with Karen: you missed a few of the ladies - Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire ...)

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend (the daughter of a coal miner's daughter, that makes me a "Coal Miner's Daughter's DAUGHTER"! LOL), Karen Lynn in Texas. :D (No joke!)
