A Smile Draws Me Near!
The first thing I notice about someone is their appealing smile.
I sometimes get lost in it and stay there for awhile.
I’m not sure why their smile draws me in so near.
While I’m in, I see other things and find this person’s rare.
I see their gentle hands, I enjoy the twinkles in their eyes.
I love listening to their soft words spoken in between their sighs.
This person drew me to them, by the smile on their face.
That’s not what’s keeping me next to them, that’s not in the chase.
What keeps me here is simple, it’s the person who’s within.
It’s what makes me want to stay here and to be close to them.
It seems I like myself better, when this person is by my side.
This person brings the best out of me, and I feel dignified.
They make me feel such happiness when they are standing by.
They make me feel protected and completely filled with pride.
I hope I do the same for them that they always do for me.
To be a better person, they make me want to be.
So when that smile draws you near, its up to you to ask why.
You can do it if you want to, you can do it if you try.
