Earth Day, end of series,The fertile earth  we live on , awesome! I wouldn't even try to list what grows out of earth,so I'll just mention a few goodies...alphabetically;-)

Apples how I love thee and your tree
Banana's are also a favorite for me

Chestnut's roasting on an open fire
Dates have been known to rouse desire

Eucalyptus,Koala's feed on you day and night
Fir trees you're beautiful dressed in white

Gorse loves to grow in Irelands light
Holly is a favorite  holiday delight

Ivy, like growing children loves to climb
Jasmine your sweet scent some think divine

Kalmia  mountain laurel,pink beauties
Lily's  dainty beauties all varities

Maple in fall a tree of flaming red leaves
Narcissis  also a mind disorder, it grieves

Orange Blossom Florida's official flower
Passion  flower carries a lot of power

Queen Anns lace, recalls a gentle face
Roses a flower with both gnaw and  grace

Shamrocks worn on St Patricks Day
Texas Bluebonnet's  the states way

Umbrella tree gives us more than shade
Violet's  beautify any forest glade
Willow it sings a morning aubade

Xerophyllum,  Bear grass tall, related to lily
Zinnia I did it, even though it's a tad silly;-)

Mother Earth you sure are magnificent! Amazing to think that of all the planets we know of so far, Earth is the only one that sustains life. In my humble opinion  Creator designed it that way! Our soil and water alone with the sun, gives us all we need to survive. The bulk of every fruit and vegetable we eat, comes from being planted in the ground. We are an awesome civilization when you think of it! Perhaps we should stop letting the doom and gloom make us negative, and get back to some positive thinking!

Happy Earth Day! Lets appreciate all we have, and give thanks to Creator for it!!

I like this ode of gorgeous couplets celebrating the diversity of Her Divine creativity - an unusual and simple way commerate E.D. - Still, somehow I think the universe is teeming with his "Planets of Water & Life" (but no doubt widely spaced for a reason!)
Sorry I missed this on Earth day... best, michael

This is so wonderfully upbeat and appreciative to all that God has done for us humble humans. Time for all to show gratitude and perform a little sowing before the reaping....

I love the A to Z style of this poem, Eileen. This is superb, but so are all of your poems. The state of the Earth, this Earth Day, is tragic, but with action and a united front, we can and will make a difference.

Best to you,
Jill

I love the positivity of this poem, ET! I realize what a sad, sad, situation we have allowed our Earth to fall into, but we must remain positive about what we can do and should do. We've got to push...push...all through the year. Good job. but...Zinnia? Well, it works great to end your Alphabet poem! LOL

Eileen, this is a beautiful tribute to "God" the maker of all things. God perfected everything in such perfection! Your poem brings to life many of the wonderful things that nature provides to all. "We" are holders of these riches but if "we" don't take care of them, they will all eventually die off. A wonderful writing.

What is going on this planet that to this date the leaders of our tribe can't respect EARTH?

"Ode to Earth Day" rings the bells of awareness and responsiblity. A profound and wise message painted with the colors of the rainbow of sublimity.

I salute You, Poet.

The bounty of Mother Earth is glorious and God's natural gifts are superb. If only more today could truly appreciate that fact. And I would love to break away from the gloom and doom, if only we could. Our wondrous god-given honey bees pollinate about 90 percent of those glorious things you mention, and even they are dying off today. I think mankind will only start appreciating what we once were given, when it is gone.

Beautiful, from A to Z - the Creator certainly knew what He was doing, in making this wonder.land for us - too bad we're destroying it - maybe it's not too late. Well done, Eileen!
