Man is working so hard destroying his earth habitat, his neighbors, his relation with God by worshiping the golden-calf...
It is not only the struts burying their heads in the sand...
Any optimist still alive out there?

A tired Zeus looking down cannot see
through the manís pollution the world,
and he is sad because brother Poseidon
in polluted seas waters he has drown.

Erato called back all her inspiring Muses,
man donít deserve to write another word,
while Ares donít care what they think
as long as quills are forged into swords.

Crying Aphrodite, man is a cheating lover,
her bed of silky sheets are empty of love,
man are spoiling everything he touches,
like Midas, on his heart a search for gold.

Also crying is Gaia, our Mother Earth,
dying wheat and growing hunger, thatís for,
because man will sweat no more by plowing,
because he gave Ares is soul for a war.

Beware little man with wings made of wax,
donít try to fly above of all your gods,
and dream to be the most powerful there is,
or like Icarus, son of Daedalus, you will fall.

The Churches of man are getting empty, and
Synagogues, Mosques, but not the powerhouses,
where presidents and tyrants play with lives
as the sons of man in no manís lands agonize.

Oracle has become deaf to manís questions,
and of answers, a mute talking only to his gods,
as the sons of Man have forsaken the loving Father,
if he could talk, that there is no future, not anymore.

I fear that one day the world will again be covered in water with only a chosen few to live and replenish this earth as was in the past. Perhaps then mankind will get it right.....

Be always safe,

The "Churches of man" ARE the powerhouses of "presidents and tyrants."
The Churches of God remains open to all mankind to mend. God tells us "The meek shall inherit the Earth"...the meek...not the naysayers, the disbelievers, the money- and land-grubbers. The Olympic gods led us to a point...then we recognized the One God and knew we were His children; allbeit many have strayed.
Your poem, 'tho, IS beautifuly composed, Georg, and I understand your message; I just don't agree with all...I'm an optimist.
Love ~~ Micke

donít try to fly above of all your gods,
and dream to be the most powerful there is,
or like Icarus, son of Daedalus, you will fall.

So very sad, and so very true, brother. And like in those days of Moses, modern mankind now seems to worship the golden calf of money and power over all else, and I truly believe it will be man's ultimate damnation.

Georg,

This is powerfully, compassionately penned - and Erato forgot a few of her Muses: yours, mine - shhh, don't tell her! Well done.

What makes the history of a Poet is not the number of pages written or her/his diplomas, but the number of souls inspired by her/his work. Anybody can get a Ph.D. in Literature, (Major Poetics) but only a Poet can write a poem.

"Olympus gods and man" invites me to talk, so let it be:
There are FIVE TERRORISTS COMMANDERS under the skirt of "Lady Whore" Ė DBA, UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION. They are the Five Permanent Members of U.N. Security Council. They are the ENGINEERS of industrial WARS and BUILDERS of SLAVEYARDS and CONCENTRATION CAMPS... the African situation, CUBA, HAITI, and over thirty millions Americans that live below poverty level Ė under the SMILES of the OFFICERS (Priests ) of ARES and MAMMON.

Note to the above and the closing line of "Olympus gods and man":
The International Courts will not allow any prosecution on them --UNLESS THEY -- the five OFFICERS of ARES and MAMMON authorize.

"Olympus gods and man" is a SIRIUS in the Cosmos of the National Poetry Month.

In respect,
