Stillborn,stolen, or not wanted,,,,,

Among the iridescence of young and new,
Sprouts a little opal blue,
A little gift from heaven above,
Between two birds of love,
Gently and with much care,
To squeeze it, I did not dare,
Splendid and fragile opal round,
Delighted of what I’ve found,
Instantly look on high,
But just a bright blue azure sky,
I found no nest between the pines,
Or on the trellis vines,
Perplexed, how could it be?
An egg falls from a tree,
There came perfectly to rest,
No sign of any nest,
Mother surely must have known,
To keep it warm and snug among her own,
I have no skills to hatch that sweet,
Or if I could then what to feed,
Or even give it reasons why,
Why birds were meant to fly,
Now sad for being so inept,
And helpless, that I wept,
That little treasure in my hand,
Like to help it but I can’t,
Bittersweet that it was old,
Found not mothers love, for it was cold,
Even if my warm hands could,
Revive it then I would,
I laid it down to rest,
Between the green with sunshine blessed,
God knows better what to do,
On its behalf in prayer sue,
He knows what things should be,
Should they die, and be set free,
Will give it wings, but in heaven above,
There fly with new found love,
Still in the silence there I prayed,
That his care not be delayed,
For if denied its mothers love,
To gently take it up above,
I did not know what else to do,
It wasn’t your, fault that is true ,
You see me kneeling, begging who,
The one who’s love is true ,
He’ll see you fly in heavens blue,
As little birds, and angels do.

Sometimes Mother Nature tells you that she also have one of "those" days...then again...count your blessings, somewhere up there tried to tell you something, were you listening?

Brilliant elements of love and universal respect for life are to be found in this. Despite my pagan take on life, I well recognise all that you allude to here. Mahalo for sharing these sentiments with us, for love is not exclusively franchised by any religion found among humanity!

Such loving warmth in this poem, J-H! I know the sadness of not being able to replace a wind-blown bird's egg. Just shred paper or cloth, add leaves and grass and twigs, then place the home-made nest with egg high on a safe limb, or tall shrub and hope for the best/
