Reflections upon your past

Have You Seen Your Life Go By?

Like the waves that pound the chalked cliffs
A surly minded gaiety conquers the whim of the traveler
Like the cries that pierce the feathered skies
Lightheartedness tickles the foreboding thoughts of the hobo
Like the restless motion that colour the pastoral landscape
Weariness erupts in the muscles of the songless minstrel
Where have you gone during all of those years?
What scenes of the world have you witnessed?
Have you seen your life go by?
Like the heavenly bodies that add scope to the nocturnal painting
A memory of being a part of society skips shallowly through the heart of the outcast
Like the mouth of a newborn babe suckling his mother’s breast
An undying hunger pants through the gastronomy of the walker
Like the call of the world that haunts through the everforest
A fear for survival clings onto the demise of the lost sheep
Have you known a meaning for happiness?
What has your past shown you for tomorrow?
Have you seen your life go by?
