Do you wonder if things go "bump" in the night? Why wonder? Just ask me! Sure, things go "bump" in the night. That should make ya feel better ...

by Ted L Glines

you are born at six
on the sixth of June
you need not fear
the phase of the moon
for no amount
of holy water
will ease the fate
of satan's daughter
there is no love
not anything bright
for you are the dark
which eats the light
and yours is the voice
sighing in the deep
of forest dreams
where children sleep
for in the night,
the creaking night,
you have a name
and your name is fright,
but it's too early
too soon to mourn
for your time is coming
your time to be born

the phase of the moon
will bring new fear
and all too soon
when the clock tolls six
on the sixth of June

Paul asks if AM / PM make any difference? Pretty cool question, really. When you think about it, AM here is exactly the same as PM on the other side of the planet, making AM / PM precisely the same sun-moment. But, Shhhhh ... we'd better keep this one to ourselves, or someone will set up a commune for the Sun-Moment Cult, and then we'll have the FBI and ATF and Janet Reno out there ...

I've read something about the devil's mark of three sixes,(I think), but you only have two. Oh well, cute poem.

Enjoyed this one Ted, loved the eerie simplicity of it that lets the words and fears seep in a little at a time.

Oh wow!!! This was really dark!!!!! So number 6 is not a good number? In Chinese, the numbers 6 and 8 are the lucky numbers, but the number 4 is the deadly unlucky number. Funny how it differs from each country!

When the clock toll six on the sixth of June and the number of your house is 666 you will need to submerge yourself in a bathtube full of holy water!
