May God have mercy on us all.

Our nation is no longer worthy,
Of protection from the Lord above;
It cares not for its own people,
It has little compassion or love.

If this sounds all too familiar,
And it sure sounds that way to me;
Then we must take action right now,
To regain our right to live free.

Our Constitution clearly demands,
Equality for one and for all;
We can't turn our eyes and look away,
While America continues her fall.

We see it every day and night,
Our homeless asleep on the street;
Our veterans returning home,
Can't seem to make both ends meet.

We sent our industries overseas,
So the rich could make an extra buck;
We sold out our own economy,
Was we who created our bad luck.

When will we all ever wake up?
It's we who control our own fate;
We can revive this country again,
But do it now before it’s too late.

 Control it with our own spending,
That is the true reality;
My friends, what we have all become,
We're our own worst enemy.

I don’t have a Sony Play Station,
I’ll not buy Toyota or Subaru;
I would never drive a Huyndai,
For I have too much respect for you.

That's what this is really about,
Patriotism has become a charade;
Every time you buy foreign,
Your freedoms you're giving in trade.

Go to Japan, try to buy a Ford,
You will pay an exorbitant toll;
The equation simply won’t work out,
The cost is our unemployment roll.

As for those that we’ve elected,
They don‘t vote the will of the many;
The lobbyists and the bureaucrats,
They have control of our every penny.

We can only protect ourselves,
The time is now to save our own land;
For the sake of your children and theirs,
Are you willing to take a final stand?

And while I am on the subject,
Let’s talk a bit about our oil;
Gas prices are out of control,
Yet it is here, below our own soil.

But still we import what we use,
And our troops continue to bleed;
Alaska, the Gulf, George's Banks,
Colorado could fill all our needs.

We have no need for imported crude,
If all the facts could ever be told;
Deals have been made and money's been paid,
The corporate buffoons are very bold.

Did I mention the state of our souls?
What's happened to our morality;
God's another touchy subject,
God is great but not politically.

What a mess our nation is in,
We are certainly not worthy;
Of God's protection from above,
Friends, our affairs are too dirty.

Our nation needs a leader now,
With a heart as his very core;
Who cares for all of the people,
In God he should trust ever more.

A Washington, a Lincoln, a Jefferson,
Someone who will lead us with love;
A person for all of the people,
Who will pray to our Lord up above.

Paul, this is the most moving write about the problems in our nation that I've read in a long while. You have truly touched the bases of issues that effect our USA economy and our lives. Every time we buy foreign goods we are shaving a little more off our own economy, crushing our own industry, and destroying a more American jobs.

I would love to see this poem published in newspapers. Its in a language we can all understand.

It's not our Nation; I'll always believe we are a Nation of wonderful people who just doesn't get our best elected to the White House or Congress. Yet, you've brought out many credible points, Paul. I'd like to see another "The Buck Stops HERE!" Truman taking command!
Blessings for this post...and Love ~~ Micke

GREAT WRITE... You have hit the nail on the head( pardon the cliche).. I sure wish this could be sent to our congressmen and leaders. Todays world is filled with harsh relities and the future does not look that bright for our children and generations to come.....M

Paul this is a great write and you tell it just as it is, if everyone would just pull together. As larry says God must be very disappointed as He sees greed step in and take over. thank you for sharing Paul.

written well, Paul. The problems are many from all sides. God must be very disappointed in us. The problem with getting the kind of leader you call for is that we voters get bogged down in side shows rather than to look for the best leader.

Paul,

Isn't it rediculous how everyone jumps from one subject to the next and no one bothers to see any of them through. What ever happened to nipping it in the bud and then moving on to the next. It's the same old same old whever you go. Everyone want to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. Only as a figure of speech of course. Keep the faith my friend. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Perhaps we need ALL war Veterans, wheelchair, crutches, gurneys...to march to Washington so those jerks can see reality for once in their lives.

PS, Paul your postings aren't coming through (I catch this from the main AD page)

There is not anything you have said that I would care to dispute because the facts be known it is all painfully true. Apathy and a loss of will have allowed all this to happen. Now who will lead? There is no one left to choose from. Perhaps out of the ashes some good will come of it....

Be always safe,

Karen
