Thru degrees of separation
We margin our desires
In order of importance
And trust the word of liars

From governments by clowns
And words said on TV
We're told that life is fine
And all is meant to be

We're urged to vote our choice
And mark our preference
And yet it matters not
For all weighs by expense

There is much truth in your words Anita. Quite timely words also.

true, we are told not to worry, prices should rise until 2010 and then level off. However it's truly more world economics than politics.

We voters are viewed by polititians as dispensible economic units. We're asked to elect not so much a government but a political class of careerists into power for the next dollar pinching, people controlling, social deconstructionist term. Am I a cynic?

There is wisdom laced with cynicism in this that has been learned, it would appear, from experience. In my neck of the woods we can buy forty percent less with the dollar this year than last. Working hard, making more, and getting poorer. Is this still America? I hope you are well.

Gloomy, but also, unfortunately, true. We writers must continually remind the king he has no clothes, just a magnificent golden parachute when he does wrong.
