Feeling left out

Here I lay outside the cave,
A cub without a den,
Too small to be set free
But unwanted freedom
is the only thing I have.

I want to go inside the cave
But know that I cannot.
For bigger bears, lying there
Will only laugh and tease

All I want is a place to be
Accepted for myself and not
Ridiculed for my faults
I don’t know when that time will come.
But for now, I’m a cub without a den.

My thoughts about your poem are echoed in the the comments already posted. A really nice analogy, it would be a great verse to teach young children about the sadness of being outcast.
Best regards

I feel the lump in my throat...I'm all choked up about it. This is a sad thing and so well written. It puts facts in the face that need to be addressed by all of us. I hate bullies, too...and carelessness. Nice piece to share, Mary, thanks.

Awww, the life of many children in this world as well. Born into families that do not want them, yet much too young to fend for themselves, well said...

Be always safe,

Mary,

This one is sad - we all feel that way - trust me, I do more often than not - just keep writing, I'll keep reading/reviewing, okay?

(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.
