facing death

Lying on the floor
My beloved pet
Can jump and run no more
He’s getting old, you see
Someday, it will happen to you and me.

The little white kitten is no more
No more jumping, running, scratching
Not even going to the door.

I remember when Bob scuffed my furniture
Got his white hair all over the place
He used to jump up on the bathroom sink,
Only wanting a refreshing drink.

My Bob cat’s fur was white as a virgin snow,
But now his coat, no longer white, has turned to
A shade of aging gray.

But although he’s old and doesn’t have much time,  he still looks at me with his big green eyes.
He tells me with his silent voice that things will be okay. I know I’m old, but I’m not gone yet, so stay with me and love me today.

Oh boy are my eyes filling with tears. The last three months of my Cheyenne's life she went blind, had a stroke and lost the ability to walk. It just broke my heart. I made a harness to carry her around in and we bought a child's stroller for her too so she could still be everywhere we were.

My beautiful Cheyenne with big green eyes who could leap from a sitting position to the top of the refrigerator in a single bound, so graceful and with such ease. With all my loveable and beautiful pets, none will ever match her wit, style and grace. She was one in a million that rarely even comes by once in a lifetime.

She now rests outside in our garden, under her favorite window, surrounded with beautiful flowers that we continue to place every week. Robert made her a beautiful carved white cross with two hearts and her name written on it.

Hold your baby close and shower him with lasting love as he slowly carves his path to shine in heaven......

Be always safe,
Karen

*tears* The impending loss of a beloved furry friend is never easy - I'm so sorry. Give an extra pat and a purr to Bob - and know you are in my prayers. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
