This is written for a friend xxxxx

a halo of mistakes

your crown of thorns

you slice yourself

then look for their light

so you can forget your own

you love too much

for those too young

to know better

and blame it all

on yourself

virtual silence echoing

a sorry that has no place

no reason to be said

to reside so deep inside you

beaten down by perfection

obsessed to regret

your blanket of fear surrounding

a shaking hand extended

a broken faith still hanging

on a limb struck by lightning

one leaf still clinging to the stem

where's the value for yourself

in those smiling eyes

of that mask you always wear

in the peace & love & hugs

of friendships bloomed

I pray for your wings and your words

a music I long to hear

when your voice breaks again

when your day breaks again

your heart ready to love

(waiting to be loved )

Excellent poetic work: humane, in touch with deep feelings, rich with subtle descriptions and imagery that shines.
I love the line (so meaningful):
"one leaf still clinging to the stem"
that closes that stanza beautifully.

This is truly a precious gift. You are an angel as I've already stated. It's hard to type with tears in one's eyes. I am deeply, deeply touched. I never seem to find the words that would do justice to your verses. Thank you, Michelle. Love and respect to you,

Regis (Reg) xoxo

Your friend is blessed to have a friend like you who cares. Some people are afraid to love, feel and engage with others, but that doesn't mean they don't love. You have written a beautiful poem of encouragement.
