Memorial Day is traditionally the arrival of summer. Got started early here in Texas ...

Thank you for your prayers for Daddy; please continue.

Image (c) 2006, Karla Dorman.

... so humid, you can
slice it with a knife,
serve it with a side
of sweat.  butter and
i hold a race to
see who melts faster:
too close to call.  would
get out and enjoy
summer's arrival,
but it's too hot ... thank
God for inside, where
it's cool all the time.

Been to Texas many times Karla. All I can say is, it's a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. A friend of mine lives in the Houston area. Had to ice the pool before using it. lol NO WAY! Way too hot and humid for my bones. Great write however. God bless.

I don't miss that humidity! Up here in MT we have had pouring rain for the past two and a half days...We currently have a flood watch in our county. Sigh... What ever happened to normal weather patterns?

It's back, and with a vengeance, I'm afraid! As much as I LOATHE the heat, I'd much rather be hot than stormed/tornado'ed/rained/hailed upon! LOL Great write; brava!

Those poor folks in Colorado; Lord, be with them!!

Summer is the evil twin of winter or it is the other way around?
But I prefer going summer commando that have my wool underwear in a twist.

Reviewed by Lois Christensen 5/23/2008
Prayers for your daddy, certainly. Looking forward to memorial day and hope it is going to be warmer than it is now. It is so cool the past week. Unusual for us, you must have all the heat down there.
