A more personal poem, self explanitory written after a visit to my dads grave on the first bitterly cold winters day in November. last year

I took an oak leaf from my farthers grave and held it in my hand. To warm November winters win 'gainst' brave defeated Autumn's stand.

I read once more the words carved through the cold carrera stone. The names of people I once knew, I took the oak leaf home.

And I...I have a small rosebud that hangs, dried, from my car visor...from a visit to my mother's grave...
