Over all the eons in woeful tunes
sorrowful songs of doleful wounds
inflicted upon the warrior hearts
in wars that "no one"ever starts
the lost limbs and blinded eyes
the trampled hopes for paradise
the reality of mens brutal lies
awareness that dreams have died
the future looking bare and bleak
ill bodies, heart, and souls, too weak
and what keeps spinning in the head
there's all too many warriors dead

But on the horizon the Holy One
covers all in the blood of His Son
raising the spirits and the minds
until all are filled with the divine
they may still suffer but coming soon
realms where Creator keeps their room
and when they reach that blessed place
they'll be whole again with style and grace

Hallelujah! God bless all of our military who
wear and wore the uniform for our country and let us never forget their sacrifice!

Sad. I like that "'no one' ever starts". Thank God I don't have a son over there. But so many do, don't they?

Yep, too many warriors gone to enemy guns, so very true, Eileen. Belief that there is more after this place softens the blow but the numbers of lost over the years is gut wrenching. Very well done, thank you for remembering them.
Take care,

While my folks where on the losing site of the war, I still feel the sacrifices they made, deserve remembering, for brave soldiers they were, despite some wrong headed leadership, and since there are no glorious remembrances for those that sacrificed their blood for me, I do it quietly, with a picture of my dad, and celebrate his birthday the same time May 25, I lay out his medals in honour of the moment, God Bless Him, and all of you! and a Poppy for you Eileen,
