A long time coming

From prison bars as tatter flag flies in the dark of light flashes of truth pierce beacons glowing bright

In the dark of anger lent a wisdom sent upon a rage of page brothers and arms meet
Like a wall on black marble they stand

Strife and stain blood leads the way across a field is it life no it is too real we will sail away

Come and hold my heart as stand with brother strong to be by the tear as we all hear
March march along

In the campfire of light as the amber turns the wave over fields of sight heard the flight of souls to stay

Pure as angel's wings in dust of butterflies a never been will stand here again if cannon cries

She was only seventeen as the toll began to play and into wind of long gone again she watched him buried

From the glow of rain and sun carved names everyone with view of time war each and every door closes again

My brother I reach to touch your soul and in the honor of right at the gate of entrance
We stand hand in hand

Your poem is so meaningful, Walt, knowing you are a Vet. Very emotional, as well it should be...with loving remembrances, too.
Blessings and Love to you, friend! ~~ Micke
