 I never liked blue

Except in the sky

And until I blended a drop of red

I questioned my colors

Because of their blindness

And thought I’d lose balance

… fall…

Instead, I opened

Yet another window, yet another

And I took off

(so surprised to see I could fly)

I visited, you see?

Ice cold Neptune

Hottest Venus

It seemed like an endless ride

Riding the tide

Of real feelings

More real than ever - ultimate

My propulsion subsystem

The simple pleasure

My spacecraft led me

To a discovery

Was a place inside

I knew it all the way

                                  - But what we know

                                  We can hide

                                    Like a sin -

Until I touched down

And saw the land of security

Felt it inside

Where it should be.

A perfect sea landing

No more anguish

On the shore.

A journey of discovery...self discovery... finding peace and the place to call home within our hearts.

This is exquisitely done...

Such a wonderful ride of new colors, new realizations, new birth as we learn to weather the storms and let peace reside. Each word you penned is a journey in itself. Well Done! Deborah

Get a load of all of these comments! I've missed AD. I love what manny moreno had to say-- love it... boy did that ever sink deep into my dry soil with its watery wisdom! And too, I thoroughly agree with David Hightower. I alway associate red with blood... purple with it too... the two chambers of the heart melding-- one full of oxygen, the other, yearning to gulp it... the two, melding to purple, that's the whole being (did I write this before?) Anyways, that's why I love purple... superficially, it's seen as being a fun, silly color, but below the surface, there is a depth deeper than... well, it's poetic...

The depth of this poem is equal to the depth of your soul. Lovely work, I really loved this line:

"Until I touched down
And saw the land of security
Felt it inside
Where it should be."

You are such a gifted poetess!

I was told years ago by an elder, a medicine man, that I should begin to gather my "medicine". I answered of course naively, " You mean roots and eagle feathers "? he scolded back "NO!" The medicine within you!.

Well years later I learned to understand. You see , the medicine to make me well was within me, I had to "gather it" to find my way and be a better , happy human being, no matter how dark the weather of life became, the medicine within me, would take care of me, make me Axilea, time to gather your medicine..A`Ho! My lovely angel friend. Be well Axilea. I love you.
