Over three years ago, I wrote a poem entitled "I'm Tired." It was a very honest poem about the physical and emotional state of mind I was in at that time.
The poem since then has taken on a life of its own. It is seen on numerous websites, blogs, message boards, and forums. Recently it has found a new venue being united with different photographs, to help bring a picture to life.
It has amazed me how many people have been able to relate to it. Trying to build on that emotion, this is the "sequel" to that poem.
And yes, I'm still tired...
I'm wore out... burned out... tired
I dream... for just one day...
of peace... quiet... restful sleep
hands cover my eyes... I just weep
I'm just so tired...
this ain't life... ain't death either
just a numb state of confusion
where stress and responsibility become one
I forgot how it feels
to be alive... without worry
I stare... at what... I don't know
I'm numb... defeated... tired
I wish I could cry
to let others know I'm scared
the mind is in overdrive
trying to find answers
I'm tired of the questions
just want to run away
everyday I die a little bit
and I don't stop it
I'm tired of being tired
I just don't care
I'm tired of asking for help
I'm tired of begging and pleading
I'm tired of hoping for a day...
that will never come
I am so damn tired...
Creating Dreams, from the nightmares of hell...

|You've gotta stop worrying, Dave. I think I know the answers for you (let me Google for it) - it's call The Serenity Prayer:
"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."
It's a start, my friend...

|Yep, life sure isn't easy, but you might as well sit back and enjoy the ride because none of us is getting outta here alive!! I have days when I feel the harshness of life but for the most part, I try to take it all in my stride...it was not so easy when I was younger, but as I get older, my "give a sh** factor" seems to become less and less and life a whole lot brighter. Excellent penning.

|Well I certainly can relate to this, since I was forced to retire because of heart problems and diabetes I have learned first hand what tiredness is and what it is to be made fun of because I feel tired, down, discouraged and yea fed up. I can say though that here on the den there is always a kind word when I need one.

|All of us get so tired and need renewing. I know personally cause I have to take sleeping pills prescribed by dr. to get a good nights sleep, otherwise my mind doesn't let me rest at night. Tiredness can be conquered somehow, but it is hard at best.|
