Sorry, they accidentally booted this posting so I had to repost! Slow it goes, still so much to do and settle...I hope you all will bear with us. Best regards to all.

Prodigal Poet

I'm back, maybe slow but here nonetheless
" The Prodigal Poet
Life knocked us around a bit
And we haven't been quite ourselves
I havent written a word of verse
Until tonight I pull some off the shelves
of my mind so full of bitter tears
with hopes old and new or worse
newer and older fears
We were down, I must admit
It's hard to stand tall when life kicks
And we grappled with the ground
But you see, after a rest
I can come back whole and write
Cause we grappled together
never did let go
We prayed as one
And shared our woe
Now Daddy has passed
He has rejoined his dead love
We are happy for them
And know they are happy above.
So how can we continue to cry
and act like they are still suffering so?
We cannot and will not,
Abuse their memory so
We return to our lives
Shed the cocoon of grief
Take a deep breath and go back to work
and return to the Den, where
I hope I am welcome again.
I apologize for my lack of support and
A poet's strength is largely in the reader's eyes,
So thank you in advance
As I ease my way back in
I hope to be of help the way you all have been.

They would be proud of you for striving on and going about your lovely work. God heals but it still takes time. Support will be with you, I will read your writes.
