If I believed in a God, I'd also be compelled to believe that the times when my supremely over-bearing male confidence takes a substantial hit were attributable to my being taught a lesson in humility by said deity. Since I do not, these little 'conscousness raising' moments are likely just a fluke of the chaotic string-theory of Quantum Physics that influences our lives. At any rate, here's an example whereof I speak....

An Encounter with Cycle Grrrrryl

The blur of red and black, a streak of motion on wheels,

I saw it in my rear-view long before it drew up alongside

To reveal a perfect vision of dark-haired vital health seated

On an expensive blue, carbon-fibre roadbike.

I was making a good 24 mph, despite the headwind,

Fancying myself to be this paragon of pure, pumping energy

That few could or would overtake on a searing summer day,

Ego stroked, macho to da max, superbiker me!

What a shock, therefore, to my Armstrong self to see

Glistening teeth, grinning, looking positively carnivorous,

Framed by a bicycle helmet on the woman’s lovely head

As she nonchalantly pedaled at my furious pace!

Before I could collect my wits to utter a single word,

This graceful Cheshire Catwoman flashed another big grin

And cut in the afterburner, accelerating well past Mach

To dash on ahead and completely out of sight.

Aphrodite on two wheels, or merely Diana on her way

To claim another victim? All I can recall are those two

Firmly toned thighs breaking into overdrive and leaving

Me in stupefied bemusement, sedately going 24!

Sadly, no names passed between us and I’ve never seen her again.

Life is like that, though, isn’t it? A series of fleeting glimpses

Of some impossible dream is all that one is usually left with.

Damn! Wish I knew who that Cycle Grrrrryl was!

Sadly, no names passed between us and I’ve never seen her again.

Don't ya just hate when that happens?
But you did get to watch her backside for a minute, getting smaller and smaller all the time........LOL

Wow, you certainly have done justice to yourself in this one! Whether a dream or a reality, all is fleeting....

Be always safe,

Oh, my - but what a memory she left you with! Well done - perfectly imaged, you set the scene before me.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
