My dear friends at Author's Den. I have been thinking of this for some time. I have not been posting as often as I used to, nor as often as I would like. This is because my writing is taking me in directions away from here. For now, at least.
At times it has been harder for me to write than I think it should. And when something you enjoy begins to feel like something forced, it's time to step back for a while and re-energize. I need to take time to think about the how's, what's, and why's of writing. I don't see this as a step back. This is not a result of depression. This is more of a chrysalis stage. And I can only wonder at what I will become at the end.
My grateful thanks for the crew of Author's Den who have put up with me these past few years. Sakes, has it been that long? You've given me a outlet for things that may never have found their way otherwise.
Heartfelt thanks also to my soul brother William F. DeVault, who introduced me to the den. Without him, I would not be the writer I am today. Or will be tomorrow.
Warm thanks and memories to all the friends I have made here. You're so many, I cannot hope to list you all. Just know you're all a part of why I love this place so much.
Like I have said to the admins, this place is still on my map. And I will be back again. But for now, it's time to see what's on the other side of that sunset.
