A poem about maintaining a healthy romantic relationship, even when distance separates.

Lovingly dedicated, as always, to Nate

For some, time injures to the bone
Remoteness leaves a scar
But we have made it, on our own
Secure in how things are
‘tis true that some moments are long
In our ‘cross distance love
But, every time we hear our song
We find strength from above.

We recognize the reasons why
Things are as they are now
Our love is our greatest ally
We need not question how
Our hearts are tethered ‘cross the miles
Bound by what is to be
When we move past the current trials
To claim our destiny.

For some, the loneliness is hard
The miles too much to bear
But, we’re blessed with a wildcard
Of love, while solitaire
The finer slice of love, within
Knows not of time nor space
And shall remain, time and again
‘til we are face to face.

Long distance relationships are hard and are to be abided by necessity. It is great to have one and feel loved and be able to communicate by phone, e-mail etc. I never had one and won't. But this poetry says a lot about it and was a nice read.
