Once there was an adorable little boy born with a poet’s heart.
There was so much love in it; it almost tore his life apart.
For his parents never understood him, they did the best they could.
They didn’t know much about raising children like most parents should.
His father always thought boys should be like soldiers and never cry.
But without feelings & love, his little poet’s heart would dry up and die.
He tried to keep his outlook deep inside so he wouldn’t upset them so.
It was so hard for this little guy; but he would learn as he’d grow.
He did so much to please them in actions and in deed.
But they always made him feel like a misplanted seed.
That’s when his poetic heart would take over and begin to speak.
He saw things beautiful when in truth they were so bleak.
His parents knew no better, they had nothing from which to draw.
They had no idea how precious their son was, how sad they never saw.
But this little boy grew to be a great man in spite of the dye cast.
He also was a great husband and father, because of his sad past.
One day he will forgive his parents for his heart is so big.
He’ll realize they knew no better, in fact, he probably did.
