Hija chilena de mi corazon

your voice sounds crystal

clear as the air of the Andes

as the song of the winds

caressing the grass of the pampas

years ago you came to my country

fleeing yours sighing under the

rule of brutal dictatorship

we shared the stage in our commitment

to justice and freedom to all people

we gave a new dimension to the words

of Neruda and Victor Jara

today so many years later our hearts

and souls still meet in the same struggle

with moist eyes and a clenched fist

again we sing together the same old song

' el pueblo unido, jamas sera vencido

jamas sera vencido! '

I didn't choose poetry, poetry chose me

I know enough Spanish to realize how beautiful and deeply expressed are your verses here, Frieda. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
