I haven't really found that special someone yet.I just like to predict the future :-)and be creative in terms of how I enjoy being single all of this time

                                       "Eulogy"

I stand here before all of you today.

To say how much I enjoyed being single.

I've met women in different places.

All shapes,sizes and races.

Black hair,blonde hair,brown hair.

Weeves,dreadlocks,wigs,extensions oh my!.

On some occassions,I made a woman smile.

By the type of gentleman that I am.

I didn't have to ask for their phone numbers.

Their smiles would say it all in a beautiful way.

This is my eulogy,my eulogy,my eulogy.

This is my eulogy for me to speak.

I have to admit I am shy,it comes natural to me.

In my heart,I believed one day I will find someone special.

I've dealt with rejections of all kinds.

With a sense of pride,I hold up my head high.

I look back at those moments and said "I tried"

I tried Lord I tried to find a flower to put in my garden of love.

When I'm on the street,I would see couples holding hands.

Even 2 birds were kissing each other on their beaks.

How I wish that would be me and her.

This is my eulogy,my eulogy,my eulogy.

This is my eulogy for me to speak.

My dream came true as I finally met the one.

I didn't meet her at a church or at the store.

I met her when I least expected it.

It was right in front of my eyes for me to see.

Just like Etta James,my lonely days are over.

I'm happy to have her in my life.

I'm proud of the journey that led me to her.

As I look back, was it worth it?Yes it was,oh yes it was

This is my eulogy,my eulogy,my eulogy

This is my eulogy,it has come to a close

In this poem especially, your easy humor comes across to us readers in a way that is both intelligent and comforting. This "eulogy" for your single life has a witty charm -- as other readers have said it, too, I never thought or writing one for myself.

In your description you said that you haven't quite found your "One and Only"? Well that is a big shame, and a surprising one as well, because with how kind you seem, and how energetic and obvious your feelings are in your poetry, I can't see how any woman wouldn't find you endearing.

Stay strong, and keep the beautiful lines coming.

LOL! I never thought of writing a eulogy other than about a person. This is a cool piece and a clever one! I pray you find her at just the right time and place in you both of your journeys through this world. You write with a sweetness that bourders innocence. It is refreshing to read and lifts my spirit. Thank you.

Peace to your Heart,
Lora

I felt relaxed while reading your work. I'm really happy for you in two places.
1)You found your heart
2)You found your voice

Hey Edwin,
How sweet! I know what it feels like to finally find the right person. I will celebrate 25 years with my soul mate March 2010, it seems that it was yesterday that our paths crossed. Hope yours last along time too.
Best regards,
Nicole

Edwin, I hope you have met your dream love of your life.

'I tried Lord I tried to find a flower to put in my garden of love.' what a sweet line that is. Very beautifully written.

I see that you want to write songs also. Putting words to music is really fun. I write songs and i love it!

The first song i sung in front of people was a song i wrote for my dad, it had half of us in tears, including my father. Ive been through big challenges in my life and my dad has helped me through them, so i thanked him through song :)

I am now getting ready to perform again on my bday in April, which will be my 3rd professional performance. After that, i'll be singing and dancing at a performing arts centre, which is huge.

So continue to follow your dream to make music, because it will happen for you :)

It seems so strange to me that you think of it as your eulogy. Is this the end of your life without love? Maybe that's it. I did enjoy reading your little story of searching for love, and it was a unique approach, as you summed up your life to this point.

How can it be your eulogy? My word, Man! you are too young to be morbidizing your life. None the less, this is a sweet poem. Often love is right in front of our faces; all we have to do is open our eyes.
