Here goes Jill, a shot at your request. Thank you for the challenge. I do hope many will join in for fun.

Poetic Home For Rent

I've a poetic home for rent,
Inside are very colourful walls,
Each lined with words from top to bottom,
Some words are big and others are small.

Some lines are very happy,
While others will make you sad,
Some will even make you cry,
Yet some will make you mad.

Yes, I've a Poetic home for rent,
Feel free to step inside to see,
Read my walls just like a book,
Those words all written by me.

I've written of my life,
Stories gone untold you see,
Some are happy memories ,
When life seemed carefree.

Some stories seem brutel,
The walls may seem a little grey,
But if you rent my poetic home,
You'll make the dark all go away.

For love dwells within my home,
I share many hugs and love in there,
I feel you will fit in my poetic home
I feel you are one that can true ly care.

Well Rose can't afford to rent the whole house, (Revenue Canada took too much of my money) but maybe I can rent a small room in exchange for services rendered. Good entry into Jill's challenge.

And a great place to make a nest so new poems will born to enrich the house with more sweet mementos.

Great poem to answer Jill. Read another one by George Carroll that is very good too. I didn't realize reading George's that he had entered the contest. Now from yours I know a thing is going on and each one writes from their own background and feelings and from their own heart. I loved yours too and think I'd move into yours whenver it was available to rent. Keep writing as graciously as you did here.

I love the metaphor which you develop so creatively. I'd like to rent it but you surely would need to charge more rent than I can afford.

Rose,
I'm loving all of the different styles and individual ideas on the "definition" of a poetic home and what such a thing means to each person. Thanks for answering the challenge. I'd rent your "home" in a heartbeat.
