Reading Your Words

I spend a lot of time reading your words and often wonder how we come up with so many different topics to write on and even if we write on the same topic, each write turns out to be so very different. A lot of the times it is just off the tip of their tongue as this one is..

Reading Your Words

I am reading your words,
They are written so fine,
Though we write the same topic,
Its different on each line.

Your write is so bright,
While mine is dark and gray,
Though we write about life,
About our everyday.

You write of the love,
That surrounds you at night,
While I write of my fears,
And what gives me a fright.

You write of the flowers,
You water lovingly each day,
I share of the tears I cry,
As I continue to wipe them away.

I'm reading your words,
As I wish they were mine,
Wish I could add brightness,
To cheer up each line.

Life can be wonderful,
Happy and carefree,
Bright and beautiful,
For all the world to see.

It just goes to show,
Whatever you seem to share,
People who read,
Soon show that they care.

Amen. Wonderful write. It is said that you can not steal an idea, because if given the same topic to write on no ones will be the same. Excellent write. Liz

A beautifully written poem Rose that questions the validity of words and their meanings when used by different people. Sadly words also can hide or disguise so much as well and are often written almost as if in code to release their sadness secrettly and without fear of repercussions...or not.

"...I'm reading your words, as I wish they were mine..." little Rose, they all are yours, because they were written from one heart to another...no exclusive ownership of feelings between poet and reader.
