This was written and dedicated for my best friend, my 16 yr Shizu dog, Aries Star who laid to rest on May 23, 2008.
Many will relate to this as an element to the reality of life.

The antonym of life
is professed as ‘what will be, will be’.
There seems to be a cruelty
regarding the inevitable destiny.
As I laid my best friend to rest,
I felt in life’s cycle,
she gave her very best.
Unconditional love
describes what we had.
At this time, the heart is heavy,
the emotions depict sad.
Understanding life’s cycle
is not always kind.
It always reaches the heart
by way of the mind.
A loyal connection
developed from day one.
The spirit lives through memory,
as her time here is now done.
Being sensitive to the path
of life’s reality,
produces an awareness
to the inevitable destiny.
