until I was reduced to a living number
Sweden is a nation of numbers

In the numerical sense no two can be the same, therefore numbers cold as it may seem. Many nations are moving to the same system, sad but more accurate....

Be always safe,

I sense a problem of semantics here. To have the choice of being a living number, or not being a living number. My choice would have me opting for the former, the number one choice! Peace. JMW

We are all numbers - sad to say - they've dehumanized us - well said, Abdi-Noor -

Oh brother, not you too! ! ! don't get bureaucrats more ideas, next time you won't have a number, just one of those rows of black lines tattoed on your ass where they can sacn it with they laser and see who really you are. Please, don't complain I already got a tattoo and that's no fun.

Good one! And the problem with controling by numbers is that broadbased decisions are targeted at the center-line of that statistical analysis bell-curve (the norm). Decisions thus made are right for a small minority, and wrong for everybody else, especially if the decisions target that exact center-line. It's, more and more, all countries where statistics are replacing individuality.

I think we are all just a number to someone in power, or to some powerful organization, today. Very sad.
