a lover's game

i heard her whisper on the line
sensual notes rising and falling
over tender lips
full and rich
blushingly moving
in rhythms one
can taste in the air
movements forming
smoke signals
over the horizon
traveling time
on a virtual line
into the waiting
ear of a lover
untouchably close
breath staggering
with every word
motions carried
without opposition
a vote of yes
no abstention
tell me again
without restraint
those erotic utterances
carrying me on carpets
flying to the coast
riding on stories
spoken only in the dark
in private installments
ordained to minister
laying of hands
preaching sermons
until the amen

and when you're all done

my midnight blue

please pretend that it's not you
and dial the wrong number again.

my secret obsession
