i'm here because my partner opened a door
and looked inside,
saw the wallpaper covered in rhyme,
long laid hidden from sunlight.
she invited me to carefully peel each thin sheet
like the skin off a peach,
put it into virtual frames and hang them
in a gallery for all the world to see.
she brought me to a world i'd never known,
brought me out of the closet, and let me go.
and the one thing i loved writing about the most
was HER.
i celebrated my love for the woman i wake up with
each and every morn
and enter into the night in soft slumber,
the one who shares the toothpaste,
and kiss goodbye on the way to work,
kiss hello upon the return,
eat brunch with on top of a hill
every Sunday morn.
the one i live the routine of
the real world with,
and the magic of a touch from her hand
in mine and the gentle feel of her lips
as they meet places seen and unseen
when we share full bodied wine.
the one who with my body i worship and adore,
hold her in the hot summer nights,
flesh upon flesh, just as we were born,
and in the winter snuggle tightly
for warmth.
she is and I am here in this flesh and blood world.
face to face. making memories of us.
making a legacy of life written in every place
we go and in every life we touch.
if you had a woman in your life that you loved
as much and loved you as much in return,
wouldn't you be in a place where
you could write it for all to see?
