Why is it that I fear,

What I hold most dear.

Its starts by chance,

with a simple glance.

Then a smile and a wink,

Makes me stop and think.

What is this interest in me?

I’m plenty happy being free.

All the attention,

Leads to consideration.

A glance can lead to a dance,

A wink can lead to a drink,

Maybe if I give into the smile,

This can last more than a little while.

I hesitate and deliberate,

Do I really want to date?

There will be pain

But then again, much to gain

I decide to wave,

Wondering if I forgot to shave.

Nervousness sets in,

And so it begins.

Friends open the gate,

And he asks me on a date.

As we talk and share,

We become acutely aware,

With that little friendly shove,

We have a chance to discover love.

Don't give into the fear of pain

as it will hamper your ability to gain!

Love is a gamble no matter how we look at it but then again so is getting up each morning and facing the world. We could stay in bed but eventually our minds and bodies would stagnate and starve. So when love comes along feast...worry about the indigestion later.

I love the rhyme in this...not a word was wasted. The last lines so wise.

D.L.,

The rhyme and flow was as smoothe as the experience. Peace, Love and Blessings, Paul.
