The Shadow of A Man

Who is that man

All dressed in black

Sitting there in the corner

Where I am unable

To distinguish his features

Just a dark blur there

A shadow of a man.

Look he’s getting up walking

Away from me

At a distance

I try to fallow close by

Keeping him in sight.

His attire

 Is completely black

Just an outline of darkness

I am unable to see his face

Yet he seems annoyed

As he keeps his back

Towards me.

I follow

With a pen and pad in hand

For reasons unknown to me

Wondering what he’ll ever do?

Why is he here?

Just waiting for him

To say something.

May be he’ll utter a

A sad or happy song

Why can he leave us alone

It’s only me

Sitting in this waiting room.

The only patient here

Inside the inner sanctum

Behind those swinging doors

Is my lovely wife

Presently under going

A minor surgical procedure

As I pray and hope

That she’ll be Ok.

What is causing

This curiosity of mine

About the shadow of a man

Walking away from me?

You versed fear very well here William, once we do catch that dark figure of a man, we'll have to look in his face, face almost every fear we don't want to face, but this is what makes the man, you'll catch him, we caught him many times on the street, some of them shot back, we survived, good luck on your wife :-)

William hope your wife is in good health, and that the procedure wasn't too evasive. Yes, that shadow (if it is really real) Fear probably like a living Fear coming to see if you would in fact be afraid.

Good you wrote about it, you both take care of yourselves.
Sincerely,
~Gwendolyn
