A poem about those with independent spirits.

Man On The Periphery

Man on the periphery
No place inside the wall
Has no epiphany
Heeds no beck and call
Man on the edge
With no place to go
Close to the ledge
Sees what is below
Man on the outskirts
Not wanting to come inside
Has no outburst
Needs no place to hide
Man on the frontier
Hiking into the distance
Sheds not a single tear
For his past existence
Man alone in the universe
Travels to the furthest star
Carries no cross or curse
As his stride takes him afar

Many man and woman have ventured those unforseen paths, forging forward fearless and brave. Well penned. Loved it! Deborah

He is so free, needs no place to hid. Shed no tears, remembers nothing of past existence. He is going afar to where? He has no burden no cross to bear and no curse upon him. Must be a great life of freedom for him. If all of us took this advice and did not worry, life would be easier for us all to live. So very good a write, I am glad I did not miss it. You are right on with this one.

Great expression of the independent spirit - not needing approval, no real regrets, not clinging to any one thing, unafraid of Self; yet, compelled to live - really live - the life given. Very nice flow and natural rhyming scheme.
