The Day That May Be Stolen
I understand that the flaws of a few can
Taint the visage if the many
And one person scorned
Causes such a rippled effect
And everyone that resembles the receiver of scorn
Has to be wary of the overflow that will come
And life can be harsh and unfair and it can suck
But sometimes the bad apple
Should be looked at as just that
But truly the few should not determine the many
And the minority should not dictate the fate of the majority
Not saying that the minority does not have a voice
But why should be louder than those who do what they must
Why should all men be singled out
Then trashed when the x-chromosome donors
Then disappear like sand in a thunderstorm
Why is that a day for the mother
Is so filled with happiness, joy an love
But the day for the father
Is the day that is normally forgotten
And even when laurels and praises are given
By those who have a true father in their lives
There are always the mothers who would trash all
Because they were stricken with the farmer
Who plants many seeds and then rolls out the door
I understand that a single mother
Has a very difficult job
And being money with no daddy
Can cause even the strongest of hearts
To feel feelings so far removed from love
So on this day lets al raise a rejoicing voice
A resounding timbre for the men who are fathers
And lets leave the fixation on the others
For another day
And just the real father all he deserves
Lets not hear how mommy does it better
On this day that father should shine
Lets not spew thoughts that dad is just a fixture
Or just the figment of creations whim
Lets all rejoice and give thanks
For all the dads who know what being daddy really means
