How do you pass the hours of the day

when your stomach transforms into a

confused knot of hurt deep inside

a ball of fire burning and scorching

the walls of your soul cutting

landmarks and scars of pain beyond

rational control of erupting feelings

How do you pass the hours of the night

when you pace the floors and your

bed isn't offering comfort nor sleep

millions of 'why ' questions are fired at

your brain centre and no answer found

oh you know, you will have ' miss-understood'

'miss-interpreted' the word count from the

other side, over-reacted to a statement

miss-judged a simple announcement

due to what?

to an overdose of love stored too long

in the warehouse of your heart

to an overdose of longing saved in a

special box on one of the shelves

to an overdose of expectations, dreams

and promises unkept and unfulfilled

Sometimes I think the size of this love

is frightening you

Sometimes I think the size of this love

is frightening me

because it makes me so vulnerable

But no matter what, know you will remain

the shadow that walks the path with me

till the very end

I didn't choose poetry, poetry chose me
