Until
By La Belle Rouge

come, My Love, and dream with me
neath a sacred pewter moon
where we exist only in the “now”
pains of our past are passed
and cryptic future comes too soon

dream deep, dream well, My Love
and do not stir or wake until
the deepest caverns of our souls
with purest love we’ve filled
until I’ve kissed away your grief
and met with mine your passion sweet

until wax candles burn and flow
down to nothing in pink dawn’s glow
‘til lovers’ shadows dance then slip away
with midnight to meet the sun
until we’ve laughed and loved all night
and though hours become one

and when you wake in morning light
my scent shall linger on your pillow still
the fire of my kisses yet burn your skin
my memory all your fantasies fill
so dream with me for dreams are free
and we will live our dream.....until

So beautiful. I just wish I had the energy to do all you wrote about. I'm afraid I'd be asleep before Letterman was through. But you write love and romance poems so well. Lovely. Liz

"...so dream with me for dreams are free." I love this line for with love sometimes that is all we can truly share and the sad realization of that is we can only survive if we do dream...
Lovely write of tender romance and powerful passion La Belle as always.

Now THAT'S a poem.

Dear Belle, your craft has deepened considerably since I last perused your work. This piece has an accomplished classical feel, excellent meter and rhyme. It captivates the mind quickly with scintillating depth of tender yet sorrowful passion - and all passion is indeed rooted in sorrow.

I salute you for a fine work Belle.

I think you'd enjoy the work of Mrs. Felicia Hemans. Look her up - email me if you have trouble - she's fantastic and this work of your reminds me of her - a high compliment.

Be blessed.
