“Selah” comes from the primary Hebrew root word [calah] which means “to hang,” and by implication to measure (weigh). Any national leader, speaking to his own people, stresses compassionate support for national interests. Speaking before the United Nations, leaders are the epitome of high ideals. But we see a vastly different message delivered by their actions. If you asked abused Somalians, they would tell you the real message conveyed by their nation's leaders. And this piece is not only about Somalian agony. Here is the real speech being delivered by our actions. |

Selah
by Ted L Glines
We dedicate our every breath
to gaining power - bringing death
if you are different - you're the foe
you will reap what we shall sow
propaganda - we will spread
'till all are scared and you are dead
and every step along our way
will be another power-play
we pledge allegiance to our cash
and in its name we smite and smash
'till all are bowing to our will
and dissidents are those we kill.
In Cash We Trust
Selah!

| Yes, I think I heard that phrase, "new world order," earlier this century from the lips of Bush the First et al. Didn't like it then, don't now. We're one nation among many, not one among the rest of them. The new world superpowers are staring us in the eye...India..China. We didn't listen to Eisenhower, did we? We're still trying to play hardball. Ever wonder, Ted, how it is we still pick on Cuba when its big brother, China, runs the same kind of game, and we call them "friend"? Money, money, money, money, money, money....Jerry |

Such a powerful form you have chosen for your sabre-rattling words, Ted. This reminds me of high theatre... the beat and resonance is so strong - particularly
we pledge allegiance to our cash
and in its name we smite and smash
a bone-shattering and mind-bending proclamation to be sure, chilling the blood with its truisms. Whatever the Holy Grail, this is the vibration of power-play pitching man against man throughout time and history. Very strong writing, thank you. Kate xx

Ted, well said...I do not think it is out of order for all of us to step behind Dennis Kucinich, (even though Rep. Kucinich did try this, he failed, but I wonder if things would have been different if each of us had written or phoned our representatives, saying, if you want to hold on to your job, you better support Kucinich) in attempting to have GW Bush impeached.
His cronies Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld should be arrested and thrown in jail for the rest of their natural lives.
Yep, like Vince McMahon says..."It's the money, money, money..."
Peace,
Dan

| Going against God they are, so willing to do away with us each and every one. They do not like us at all and will try anything to kill as many as possible at one time. Remember 9/11, terrible, day. |
