thinking about the woman who i can hardly wait to get back home to ....

I looked at you and I could tell
you were everything I ever wished for
not too tall but tall enough
blonde hair with green eyes
blue and gold specks in just
the right light
smile curved beautifully
lips that curled temptingly
mouth made for kissing
breasts high and tight
used to be an athlete
got the build
the jock femme
one look and you can tell
aging oh so very well
got a look of serious presence
laughter contagious
voice texas toned
and strong
this ain't no southern belle
but you're a hell raiser
in professional's clothing
firm exterior shell
from working with your hands
since birth
takes walks on the wild side
not afraid to run the streets at night
dashing down unfinished trails
to get to the best
fried catfish in town
share a pitcher of beer
shoot pool
throw darts
talk about art
make something out of nothing
right before my eyes

take ordinary napkins

and such turn them into

artistic expression

just for me to treasure

melt my heart and soul
with one look
one light touch
make love to me
with a whisper
and the feel of a hand
on my cheek
pulling me forward
into a kiss like i've
never dreamed of
and will never forget
make me glad i'm a woman
make me want to give her
every bit of the pleasure
you've given me
with your company
fall in love with you
as hard as a star falling
across the hill country sky
hold you on a river bank
and make our dreams come true
paint a canvas that's
just us two
simple and complex
living in duality
intelligent and down to earth
that's all you are to me

i know not of this other
but of this one i know true
you are my mate and lover
in a home we call our family
where nothing matters
but what we choose.

my secret obsession
