A Change of Clothes

It is all relative to the times.

Tailored silk shirts

trousers too

cobbler's custon shoes

threads I donned

when youth's pockets

were amply lined

seasons pass

gold

does not last

labels have replaced

monogrammed suits

my clothing now hangs

on department store racks

Dillard's and Macey's

now standard fare

Calvin Klein now stitches

my underwear

I go not nude

so I'm still

a lucky dude

a change of clothes

a change of attitude

petty stuff

when you've

seasoned

long enough

This is so true and I loved the way you stated it. But remember what comes around goes around, many things out of style will be in again. Enjoyed.

Jon,

Labels don't interest me none - functionality is where it's at - well done!

In youth we buy into the flights of fancy of our social norm...companies depend on it...but your right with age we opt for utility and function over fashion...Great read Jon

Great write, John; I prefer hand me downs or thrift store stuff myself to the name brands.
