Adventure of this Land
Vivid colors of the rainbow in dawn’s light,
brings visions of relief to help us all to cope,
the grey thunderous storms fade from sight,
born a new day without rain is are only hope.
Simple acts of nature hold such eternal power,
as a lite drizzle suddenly turns to pounding rain,
rising waters create raging rivers that can devour,
bringing death, destruction, misery, and such pain.
Never appreciating what we have until it is gone,
each day is a gift from the heavenly God up above,
from devastation, what we once had we now long,
shattered, in a moment of time taking what we love.
Thoughts we never had now playing upon our mind,
left with an emptiness consumed with feelings so sad,
yesterday, today, tomorrow, blurred into passing time,
it doesn’t help to get frustrated, angry, or even mad.
Life is journey of survival, a test of our human will,
a struggle, waging conflict with the elements at hand,
but soon the rising waters will once again become still,
another day living the omnipotent escapades of this land.
