there's a center point
within the star sparkling brightly
on blue velvet
twinkling reminder of days
spent dreaming of you
cross corners of a city
where continental's obelisk stands tall
marker as of old in egypt when
in khaki gear explorers roamed desert sands
in search of treasure
reading the signs along the way
trying to unlock the secrets locked
in sacred halls promises of greatness
painted by scribes in hieroglyphic mystery
tales held within her soul
the mighty queen crowned in gold
orbs glowing brightly in jewels from present and past
oracle of futures forged in the fires of purpose
determination in each step taken
for in history was she made and it is history
she is making through discovery,
through misty air where mere mortals may not see
but all is seen by her astute nature
goddess and muse
woman of her own making
walking her own way quite defined
by her own definition sublime
while recorders and trackers keep close watch
and the scholar documents her for all time.
my secret obsession

|The ancient Queens such as Sheba and Cleopatra would smile reading this one knowing how your soul stands beside them and acts as a voice not to the history of the past but to the pasion that once lived. Well done.
