God's Will Be Done

I saw an angel today
But I almost missed him.
I saw him swept up into the the arms of a man
who wore long white robes
with eyes of fire
and hair like lambswool.
The man walked on water and carried the young angel home
Kept him from the cold, kept him from the water.
When I opened my eyes, I knew it’d been a dream
but I couldn’t help but wonder if it were more than just another dream.
On earth, God’s will be done,
but why must it be done so soon?
Lord, be with this angel,
I know he’d hate me calling him that
Although I’m sure his mother won’t mind.
Father, help us to understand your gain, and our loss.

For Blair, who couldn’t help what happened. God be with you; I know that all of us down here wish you were with us.
