Tarry now among us,
Sweet whisper
Of love on the wind,
And carry far away,
The bleakness
Of darker days,
Delivered by ignoble souls,
With promises,
And little else.

Many are we
Who are simple,
Having simple needs,
Longing only for security,
And the comfort of loved ones near.
They can save their rhetoric;
So many beautiful words,
Repeated here and there,
In parades
And supermarket lots,
Less humble
Than the Lord
Who gave them breath.

For me,
I am happy with love,
And a simple home within the trees,
A wife who sings to the noontime sun,
Beloved pets,
Nestled at my feet.
My reward has come
In simple ways,
As I await my life eternal,
With the Lord of Nazareth
So near,
At peace in Heavenly home.

Beautiful picture and photo you present here. Our lives need to seek God and rest also. Always appreciate nature and what you do have in life. Nothing stays the same and life goes by so fast. Reminiscing like this is great.

And the poem too, is simply put-- understated, soft and loving-- not a harsh sound in any tone, just smooth as buttered toast over the tongue. Under your pen, English is as beautiful as any language can be. (love it) --Charlie

This is beautiful and causes me to stop and take notice of God's glorious creation all around me.

Thank you, Janet

Frank,
Far too many people allow themselves to take the simple things in life for granted and overcomplicate the things that need not be complicated at all. I lead a very simplistic lifestyle, filled with love for my family and my pets. I have only what I need and the rest is unimportant. That said, many people do not understand me, nor can they relate to me. Hence, in many ways, I live a life of solitude, but I live the life I choose. I have no regrets, nor complaints.

May everyone who reads your poem take the time to stop and appreciate the natural beauty and wealth that God has bestowed upon us.

Beautiful writing.

Thanks,
Jill

Absolutely beautiful. Sometime you have to look around to see what's really important.
